Getting Ready For Fall
Temperatures are dropping and the colors are changing, in order to keep your landscape healthy and disease free, it’s time to start thinking about winterizing.  Winterizing your landscaping will keep the focus under the surface and at the core of your plants keeping them healthy and ready for a strong spring season.

Landscape Connection offers A Winterization Program that includes the following:

• Leaf and pine needle removal from lawns, planting beds and water features.
   
• Winterizing annual and perennial beds by removing old plant matter, pruning of perennials, preparing garden soil for the spring season and applying mulch to incubate perennials and shrubs.
   
• Aerating and applying Winterizing Fertilizer: Aerating your lawn will allow oxygen to flow into the root system for a breathable environment and contributes to decreasing thatch build up.  Fall is the most important time to fertilize your lawn.  A winterizing fertilizer promotes aggressive root growth for a healthy and disease free lawn.
   
• Winterizing Sprinkler Systems: Sprinkler systems need to be blown out or drained before a hard freeze occurs. This is usually done in October and November. If you are one to do it yourself, you can go to “How to drain your sprinkler system”.
